Revival 9.0 - 2008

Current event schedule and potential outing proposals.

Postby meat on Sun Apr 13, 2008 11:24 am

I will be attending Revival 9.0 from Sunday, May 18th, until it ends. It shall be cool. Also contingent upon acquiring a vehicle, I plan on leaving the Valley bright and early that Sunday morning. Anyone who needs a ride can roll wit' me then.

Team,
i just churned out a dozen flies for the trip. None of which contain my pubes. It took me like two hours... i haven't tied in a while.

Nice, now that you have some for Chad, you might want to tie up a few for yourself next.

Word... tied a few more last night. My sulphur duns kind of look like shit right now.

Anyway, Shaun, is there anything in particular that you want us to bring. I figure that I will bring the x factor, sleeping bag, fishing gear, pretty minimal camping stuff, unless you need us to bring anything, some food for a couple of nights (hamburgers, steak, what not), water and more water... anything else, let us know.

actually, that should be good. I don't think you'll need much camping stuff other than maybe a blanket and pillow. Of course, you're welcome to bring whatever you want. I am taking my fishing stuff, some tying stuff, some food, lots of water, and some clothes. That's about it.

We have three beds and a huge couch for sleeping. Plus I will probably bring an air bed or something.

If you feel like you must bring more stuff, we can always use some candles, if you want to do that. The cheap, unsented ones from the dollar store are perfect. We go through those pretty quick.

This has little to do with Revival 9.0, but...

I was watching a Joe Humphrey's video today, and I saw that part that Smokes loves where Joe says, "That was a blind strike, I didn't see the fish take the nymph, I didn't feel the nymph take the hook, I just new it had to be there so I set the hook."

That was some funny shit.
Looking forward to revival 9.0

Word up - I salivate thinking about 9.0. Gas prices are seroiusly going to hurt the wallet, but fuck it right? Fly fishing is the shiznit.

here is a web page to help track stream conditions and what flies you might want tobring along.
http://www.flyfishersparadise.com/streams.php

Use the scroll-down tab to select the stream you are interested in

Cool Site... who the hell is Walt. Anyway, I found it interesting that they don't have "Meat's Indispensable" , "Prince Albert" , or "Adventure John" listed on their fly patterns that are working this time of year.

Walt's Worm is just an example of some dude (named Walt, I presume) trying to take credit for re-inventing the muskrat nymph.
His manfriend Al invented something called Al's Rat, which is exactly the same fly (muskrat nymph), but fished at the Little Lehigh. I hear Al likes to hang out with Lou M, who is also a fag.

Its kinda the same deal as Al Gore claiming to have invented the internet.

Smokes, come in, Smokes,
Mike, just wanted to know if you had heard whether you got vacation time for the revival or not. Just let me know, but don't sweat it. If you can't go, I will either take Karen's sister's car or rent a car.... no worries.
